Leica System case, Billingham for Leica, size M, black
Leica Combination M Bag by Billingham
Its hard to believe, but this elegant, practical bag comfortably accommodates a complete Leica M photojournalism outfit. The noted bag specialist Billingham makes it exclusively for the Leica M system, based on a concept developed by Leica designers. The M system combination case, in watertight cotton fabric, can accommodate two Leica M bodies with two lenses, or one body with three lenses. The camera fits in easily even with a Leica motor M or Leicavit M attached, and the length of the lenses poses no problems either. A fully padded lining, as well as two removable padded inner sections provide optimum protection for the equipment and allow maximum flexibility of the usable space. A zippered compartment offers space for a Leica SF 24D flash, film and other accessories

While I always carry a camera, I use this as my "handbag" too, the front pocket being quite large and great for wallet, phone and other bits and pieces. The pocket is safe from wandering hands as it is zipped and covered by the flap. The bag is well waterproofed and, with a deep breath regarding the cost, better than the similarly sized Billingham Hadley (which I also have). Passports and other bits can be pushed between the lining and the back of the bag. It is possible to carry two M bodies with lenses attached although it can be a tight squeeze. I really don't recommend trying to take a camera and three lenses as the camera has to be pointing down in the bag. I use a grip with each body and if pointing down the centre of gravity is just wrong with a real danger that the camera might fall out if the flap is not securely fastened. I prefer to take the camera with one lens attached and a second lens (35/75 or 50/90) and put the camera in sideways. This gives more room and makes it easier to get the camera in and out safely.Read moreRead less
