The KATE combines a luxurious, well thought out and ethically produced handbag with a practical camera bag. Timeless and elegant, it’s a lifelong companion.
Every single Oberwerth bag is made by expert craftsmen. As all of our products are made in Germany from beginning to end, under fair working conditions, we have a constant influence on production. Each KATE is made from carefully selected, high-quality cow hide. The insert is made of CORDURA® which is also used for our bags and other inserts. The material is extremely tear-proof, durable and easy to look after. Furthermore it is waterproof as well as oil and dirt resistant.
Every bag will be delivered with a clutch bag, key wallet and two shoulder straps that can be attached to the bag with carabiners. The longer cotton shoulder strap can be adjusted so that the bag can be worn as a messenger bag, for example. The shorter, economically formed leather strap is very soft and comfortable to wear on the shoulder.
KATE can be transformed from an elegant handbag to a practical photo bag within seconds. The removable insert offers enough space for one camera body and two lenses. In addition there is enough space in the bag for a 13” laptop. The outer zipper pocket does also comfortably fit a tablet.
KATE also includes a beautiful, timeless clutch bag that is big enough to hold your everyday essentials like keys, cellphone, make-up and wallet. Whether you are dashing out for a business lunch or going to the cinema after work, this clutch bag is an elegant must-have accessory.

All the little touches like how the lid of the camera insert Velcro’s to the side of the bag to keep it open, and all the pockets for storage are great. The only downside I have found is that you can’t fit much in the bag on top of the camera inset if you want to keep easy access to the camera, but this is quite easily solved by using the multiple pockets and restricting items to put on top of the insert to things like scarfs or jackets which can be easily and quickly removed. The only thing I’m not so keen on about this bag is the lining. It feels like a waterproof kind of nylon which isn’t nearly as luxurious as the leather the outside of the bag is made from. It is however very practical so I’m sure that I can live with it!Read moreRead less
