Our Favourite Q3 Features

Brought out earlier this year in May, the Q3 has been a groundbreaking release testament to Leica's legacy. Seamlessly blending performance and innovation, the Q3 pushes creative boundaries and delivers quality results. We have now spent a good amount of time with the camera and will dive into the best features that make it special. 

Brand New Sensor

A big upgrade from the Q2 to the Q3 is the 60 MegaPixel BSI-CMOS sensor. More megapixels to catch finer detail. The exciting addition to the sensor is the Triple-Resolution Technology. You can use a resolution of either 60, 36 or 18 MP with RAW or JPEG. This allows you to choose between that super sharp detail or prioritise fast shooting in low light. The digital zoom crop now goes up to 90mm and there is an improved ISO of 50-100,000. These features give you true versatility in your shooting. Whether you want to do professional work or take travel photos, the Q3 is dynamic enough to cater to your creative needs. 

Improved Autofocus

One of the most appealing features of the Q3 by far is the new state of the art hybrid autofocus system. The new phase detection autofocus means that tracking objects is much easier and you can focus at much higher speed and precision. Along with the phase detection there is now high-precision contrast autofocus that supports the capturing of sharp images. Take quicker, sharper photos with the Q3 in every setting! 

Tiltable Screen

A significant change from the Q2, the screen is now tiltable! Ergonomic and smooth, this enables you to capture low-angle or high-angle shots with straining, providing new freedom and flexibility. This is an added advantage to the camera as you can experiment with different perspectives and compositions effortlessly. If you still prefer traditional shooting, the improved 5.76MP OLED viewfinder is razor sharp. The camera is also protected with the same IP52 certification as the Q2, making it robust and adept for shooting in different weather conditions. 

Great New Accessories

The new accessories for the Q3 cover both style and features. We love the new halfcases, which come in Olive, Black and Cognac. They now have release doors on the bottom for easy access to the battery and memory card slot. The wireless charging adaptations with the handgrip and charging pad make it super easy to charge and go- less time charging, more time taking photos!

Increased Connectivity and Charging

The Q3 can transfer to the FOTOS App at speeds up to 10 times faster than the Q2. This ensures that you can increase the speed of your workflow and share your photos much quicker than you could before. Although this connectivity works with Android too, the Q3 is a Made for iPhone product and can connect to your phone using the FOTOS cable.
